Granite Cleaning
Granite cleaning is performed to granite counters, floors and showers prior to sealing. A very common procedure combined with routine cleaning and sealing of natural stones. Most often granite cleaning is performed on granite kitchen counters as a periodic effort to clean the counters of built up dirt and grime prior to applying a high quality penetrating sealer. Often we are asked to remove oil stains from granite counters. This can be done but is not routine and should be considered a restorative process rather than granite cleaning. It is performed using a stone poultice that will actually absorb the oil from the granite surface. Once your granite is thoroughly cleaned, sealing is recommended for most granite surfaces.
