Limestone Polishing

Limestone can be polished just like other natural stones. However, the question is to what degree? Many highly dense limestone surface will hold a very high polish, but probably not as high as many granite counters would. In addition, medium or lower density limestone surfaces are better left with a honed finish as they are not hard enough to produce a substantial, consistent reflection and if they do, it will probably lose its polished appearance quicker than would be desirable. Have your higher density limestone surfaces polished, but let the less dense limestone surfaces remain as a beautiful honed finish.
