Travertine Restoration
Travertine Restoration is performed in a similar method to marble restoration. A calcium carbonate stone that is sensitive to acidic products and traffic abrasion, travertine will wear with use and become scratched and dull in traffic areas and highly used areas such as kitchens and points of entry. Travertine restoration is nothing more than the use of abrasion to restore the surface to a flat, smooth plane and then honing or polishing to a consistent finish that is suitable to the taste of the owner, whether it is a low honed finish or highly polished surface. We use only the most orthodox travertine restoration techniques – all diamond abrasives and high quality penetrating sealers. We do not use short term fixes such as crystallization or waxing techniques when we restore a travertive surface.
